“Crisis Management in the School Environment: Prevention and Intervention”

The online seminars for educators aim to enhance participants’ knowledge on managing all key issues in modern school life, with a special focus on crisis management related to mental and physical health within the school setting, interpersonal conflicts among members of the school community, managing school delinquency, and handling diversity.

By the end of the program, participants are expected to:

  • Learn a range of best practices and ideas from international experience and literature.
  • Understand the relevant educational legislation and institutional procedures for managing key issues in school life.
  • Implement comprehensive plans and interventions for managing school problems at both the prevention and intervention levels, acquiring the necessary skills.

TARGET AUDIENCE:

  • Active educators of all specialties and levels.
  • Educators serving or aspiring to serve as Administrators in Education, School Life Advisors, Mentors, and Class/Subject Coordinators.
  • University and college students and graduates interested in pursuing a career as educators or specialized scientific staff in schools (school psychologists, social workers, special educators, school nurses).

Upon completing each cycle, participants will receive educational materials and a certificate of attendance.

FIRST CYCLE (Dates to be announced)

  • The Art of Relating.
  • Effective Crisis Management in the School Environment.
  • Building Positive Relationships with Students and Avoiding Conflicts.
  • School-Family Relationships: Open Communication Model.
  • Best Practices for Communicating with Parents.
  • Workplace Conflicts and Unforeseen Consequences in the Work Environment.

Duration: 6 two-hour seminars, 18:00-20:00

Participation Fee: 100€

IMPORTANT INFORMATION:

To secure a spot, interested individuals must follow these steps:

  1. Complete Contact Information: The participant fills out the required registration details.
  2. Payment of Participation Fee: Payment can be made:
    • Either at the YMCA Thessaloniki office
    • Or via bank transfer (YMCA Thessaloniki bank accounts), indicating the participant’s name and the seminar title “Crisis Management” in the payment reference, and send the proof of payment to [email protected]
  3. Link for the Seminar: The link will be sent upon completion of registration.

Fees are non-refundable: If for any reason the participant cancels their participation, fails to attend classes, or chooses to withdraw during the course.

  • Handling Emergency Medical Situations in the School Setting.
  • Managing Cases of Domestic Violence.
  • School Bullying (Bullying and Cyberbullying).
  • In-School Delinquency (Vandalism, Destruction, Theft, Drug Use).

THIRD CYCLE (Dates to be announced)

  1. Managing Diversity in the School Environment.
  2. Managing Immigrant and Refugee Students in the Classroom and School.
  3. Managing Roma Students in the Classroom and School.
  4. Recognizing Learning Difficulties and Referring Students to «Centers for Interdisciplinary Assessment, Counseling, and Support» New Skills for the 21st Century.
