Fashion Design Program

The Fashion Designer is the starting point of a collection, the inspirer of an idea, and the coordinator for its successful completion.
This educational program is aimed at beginners with no prior knowledge of drawing or painting, with the goal of introducing participants to the fashion industry. In the initial sessions, students will learn about designing the female figure in 24 cm scale, dressing, and coloring. Throughout the course, they will become familiar with clothing terminology, fabric qualities, and how these are represented in design. They will also explore the history of fashion and its evolution throughout the 20th century. Students will discover sources of inspiration for creating a collection and how to develop their personal identity in fashion.
In the final lessons, participants will design and present their own Capsule Collection.
COURSE CONTENT:
- Introduction to the fashion industry
- Figure drawing
- Pattern terminology and garment parts
- Figure dressing
- Color theory and fabric types
- Coloring the figure and rendering fabrics
- History of Fashion in the 20th century
- Inspiration and creation of mood boards
- Development and design of a Collection
- Design of a personal Capsule Collection
- Educational visit to fashion-related spaces
CERTIFICATION: Upon completion of the program, participants will receive a Certificate of Attendance from the Certified Continuing Education and Lifelong Learning Center of YMCA Thessaloniki.

IMPORTANT INFORMATION:
- Annual membership registration is required: 15€
- Trial classes are only allowed for monthly programs (1 per program) with corresponding cost.
- Fees for all monthly programs are payable at the beginning of each month.
- Absences due to personal fault are not transferable.
- In case of waiting lists, if the subscription is not renewed within the first week of each month, the spot will be allocated to someone else.
- Tuition fees are non-refundable: If the participant cancels for any reason, fails to attend classes, or decides to withdraw during the course. Transfer of participation to a different program within YMCA Thessaloniki for the same or a relative person within the same financial year is allowed.
- Cost of replacement magnetic card in case of loss: 3€
