Chess Academy
Chess is often called the “game of kings.” It is widely regarded as the fairest game because it does not require any age or physical build.
Despite the common perception that chess is a game for the highly intelligent, learning the rules is straightforward for anyone.
Chess develops concentration, communication and cognitive skills, critical and strategic thinking, memory, problem-solving ability, mental maturity and creativity, self-confidence, and self-esteem. It encourages deep thought, thorough analysis of the action-reaction-consequence relationship, and mental visualization of sequential relationships.
The YMCA Thessaloniki Chess Academy offers programs for beginners and advanced players starting from the age of 6.
Throughout the year, we organize internal tournaments, friendly matches, and various other events!

A medical certificate is required for participation in the academy.
Classes are held every Saturday at 13:00.
