Tae Kwon Do

Tae Kwon Do is the most popular Korean martial art and the national sport of Korea. It is one of the most widespread and comprehensive martial arts globally.

First and foremost, Tae Kwon Do is designed to make the athlete’s behavior non-violent, develop a positive outlook, and instill a sense of confidence.

Due to the movement and nature of the sport, Tae Kwon Do harmoniously and evenly exercises the entire body, contributing significantly to overall physical health and more. It also develops flexibility and agility in many cases. The philosophy of Tae Kwon Do also cultivates the practitioner’s spirit through meditation exercises that improve concentration and help manage anxiety and stress.

Many athletes have represented YMCA Thessaloniki with remarkable moments, winning national finals and achieving distinctions in both European and World Championships.

The credentials of our academy and its excellent organization are highlighted by the numerous athletes who have represented the Greek national team in all age categories.

In a state-of-the-art hall at the “M. Tsikinas” sports center, our distinguished coaches teach their Art with absolute dedication.

The TAE KWON DO ITF department has been on an upward trend in recent years, showcasing a series of successes across all age categories. YMCA athletes are consistently selected by Federal Coaches, participating in squads and National teams.
