From…

In recent decades, lifestyle has drastically changed, with most of the population exhibiting low levels of physical activity and adopting poor dietary habits. Children and adolescents, following the patterns of adults, adopt unhealthy lifestyles, jeopardizing their future health.

In collaboration with Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, YMCA Thessaloniki has been organizing a camp for children with diabetes for over 25 years, creating a tradition and gaining experience in managing specialized camp programs. Both organizations, recognizing the needs arising from modern lifestyles, offer a new scientific approach to improving children’s overall health. They aim to educate and fully integrate children and adolescents who have experienced the effects of unhealthy eating and lack of exercise into society.

This effort, a collaboration between YMCA Thessaloniki and Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, is organized and supervised by health experts and represents a pioneering attempt to address the issue of unhealthy eating and insufficient exercise observed in our country. The goal of this specialized camp program is to teach and encourage the adoption of a healthy lifestyle, which will protect children against future health problems.

Our goal at YMCA Thessaloniki camps is to inspire people to become better.
