Youth Take the Lead in Thessaloniki’s Most Vibrant Public Event
On Saturday, May 3rd, the iconic White Tower square in Thessaloniki transformed into a dynamic hub of youth creativity, civic expression, and joyful participation. The 17th edition of Play – Act MotiON, organized under the umbrella of PulseZ, brought together hundreds of young people who didn’t just plan the day—they owned it.
From early in the morning until the afternoon, the square pulsed with activities: games, performances, workshops, discussions, media creations, and powerful moments of human connection. Thousands of people of all ages passed by, stayed, engaged, and ultimately became part of a movement that gives youth the space to shape their own narratives.

“Play – Act MotiON vol.17” was not just an event—it was a living example of what PulseZ stands for: giving young people the tools, the space, and the support to speak up and be heard. As a European youth media initiative, PulseZ empowers young journalists, content creators, and community contributors to produce meaningful, ethical, and engaging content across formats—from social media to podcasts, investigative articles to street interviews.
This event offered exactly that: a platform for young people to use media as a tool for expression and impact. Participants shared their thoughts on the future of Europe, their local communities, and the challenges they care about—from inclusion and mental health to sustainability and peace. And they did it through stories, video, art, and interaction.

What made “Play – Act MotiON vol.17” special wasn’t just its scale—it was the ownership. The energy behind the scenes came from young people who designed, coordinated, and executed every aspect of the event. They were joined by experienced mentors, but the spotlight belonged to them.
